SACRAMENTO KINGS
WALLPAPER WEDNESDAY
Each Wednesday is #WallpaperWednesday on the Sacramento Kings’ Instagram story! Each week, I designed a new wallpaper that features one of the Sacramento Kings basketball players. I experimented with different Photoshop effects, and custom lettering while staying within the basic branding guidelines and season aesthetics of the team. My goal was to learn one new Photoshop effect and to make each week’s wallpaper different from the previous weeks. They are then uploaded to the Kings’ Instagram story where fans can tap, hold, and screenshot the image to set as their phone’s background.
SACRAMENTO KINGS FAUXSAIC
With my love of cool floors and mosaic tiling, along with inspiration from Nick Misani’s fauxsaics (digitally-created mosaics), I challenged myself to make a fauxsaic of my own as a parting gift to my creative team at the Sacramento Kings. I wanted it to be something that everyone would like and that was a reflection of me. I first rendered the outlines of the logo and the the circles that would become the guides for the tiles. Then I pulled the renderings into the Procreate on my iPad and traced over the outlines, and then drawing each individual tile by hand. After, I export the file into Photoshop where I color each tile by hand and variate the colors slightly for each tile. I add the texture first, then bring in my feet and the shadows.
Each fauxsaic takes about 30 hours to complete.
